Electrical Safety

Through interactive visuals, real case data, and common household examples, they learned about the dangers of overloaded sockets, the importance of RCCBs, and rising incidents linked to faulty appliances. The session also highlighted key electrical safety tips and fire prevention practices—empowering everyone to keep their homes safely wired and shock-free.

Booth 1 – Watt Up? Staying Safe With Electricity!

Participants learned how everyday home electrical setups can become hazards if not properly maintained. The session covered overloaded sockets, RCCBs, faulty appliances, and practical fire-prevention tips to keep homes safely wired and shock-free.

Booth 2 – Current Affairs: Data Center
Electrical Dangers

At this station, participants uncovered the hidden electrical hazards in data centres—from arc flashes and thermal runaway to high-voltage shocks. Real case studies and striking visuals illustrated the seriousness of these risks. A hands-on rescue hook demonstration let participants practise pulling a “victim” dummy to safety, reinforcing the right response in electrical emergencies. The key takeaway: preparedness saves lives.

Booth 3 – Be Bright, Be Safe: Guide To
Electrical Know-Hows

Participants learned the importance of understanding arc flash boundaries and choosing the right PPE. They explored how heat energy varies with distance and examined a Category 4 PPE suit up close. The session reinforced Google’s PPE policy and the need for flame-resistant, arc-rated protection.

Booth 4 – Lock It Down, Live It Up: Why
Loto Matters?

In this station, participants learned how to differentiate between simple and complex Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures. A hands-on activity using a real LOTO box guided them through a step-by-step mock lockout, reinforcing key concepts and the importance of applying the right level of control for each scenario.
