• BizSAFE Level 3: Audit and CertificationThe most commonly sought level for tender and contract eligibility. The company implements its Risk Management Plan and engages a MOM-approved auditing organisation to conduct an independent audit. The audit involves document review, staff interviews, and an on-site inspection. Valid for 3 years, renewable.

• BizSAFE Level 4: Building a WSH Management SystemThe WSHMS Champion attends a 4-day course and develops a comprehensive Workplace Safety and Health Management System Implementation Plan that integrates WSH objectives, emergency response plans, and legal compliance. Valid for 3 years, renewable.

• BizSAFE Star: The Pinnacle of WSH ExcellenceTo achieve Star status, the company must hold ISO 45001 (or SS651) certification from a SAC-accredited body, accompanied by a valid Risk Management Audit Report. This signals that the company meets a global benchmark for occupational health and safety. It is important to note that bizSAFE Star status is directly tied to the company's ISO 45001 certification. If the ISO certification expires or is revoked, the bizSAFE Star status becomes invalid immediately.

Who Needs BizSAFE Certification in Singapore?

While BizSAFE is not legally mandatory for all businesses, it is effectively a commercial necessity for any company that:

• Tenders for Singapore government or GLC contracts will require at least BizSAFE Level 3
• Works as a subcontractor or supplier to large enterprises that mandate WSH certification
• Operates in higher-risk sectors such as construction, manufacturing, marine, oil and gas, logistics, or facilities management

The typical process for achieving BizSAFE Level 3:

1. Top management attends the Level 1 CEO/Top Management WSH Workshop (3 hours, available online)
2. Appoint an RM Champion and enrol them in the Level 2 Risk Management course (2 days)
3. Develop and implement the Risk Management Plan across all relevant work activities
4. Engage a MOM-approved Auditing Organisation (AO) to conduct the RM Implementation Audit
5. Submit the online bizSAFE Enterprise Application via the WSHC portal with the required documents
