Ergonomics
Learning
A physiotherapist-led learning programme that helped employees understand how workstation setup, posture, repetition and work habits contribute to discomfort. Rather than prescribing one perfect posture, the session focused on practical adjustments and regular movement, giving participants a repeatable way to assess their own setup and reduce unnecessary strain throughout the day.
Programme Overview
Understanding common ergonomic risk factors, including prolonged static posture, awkward reaches, repetition and poorly positioned equipment
Adjusting chair height, back support and desk position so the body is supported without creating new pressure points
Positioning monitors, keyboards and pointing devices to reduce neck, shoulder, wrist and forearm strain
Using posture variation and short movement breaks to reduce the load created by staying in one position for too long
Recognising early signs of work-related discomfort and responding before occasional symptoms become persistent problems
A practical self-check employees could repeat whenever they changed desks, equipment or working locations
