Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle!

A four-day sustainability campaign that made waste visible, practical and personal. Across three workplace sites, participants traced what happens after an item is thrown away, learnt how contamination affects recycling, and explored realistic ways to reduce waste before it reaches the bin. Interactive booths were paired with hands-on upcycling workshops so the 3Rs became actions people could take at work and at home.

What We Covered

Programme Overview

Trash Talk: a clear look at landfills and incineration, helping participants understand where workplace waste goes after disposal

Recycling rules made practical, including how contamination happens, which everyday items belong in recycling bins, and why soiled materials cannot be recycled

Compost Magic: following food scraps and used coffee grounds through the composting process and understanding how organic waste can become a useful resource

Save WALL-E: recognising electronic waste, understanding why e-waste needs separate handling, and identifying appropriate collection options

Recycling manners at work, from sorting correctly to reducing single-use items and making disposal instructions easier for colleagues to follow

Hands-on upcycling workshops using coffee grounds, beeswax and worm composting to turn sustainability knowledge into something participants could make and take away

Campaign in Action

Real sessions from the campaign, showing what participants actually did on the day.

Where does our waste go? Participants compare incineration and landfill, and explore the impact of what the office throws away.

Highlight 02

Participants turn used coffee grounds into a useful new product during a guided upcycling workshop.

Highlight 03

At the Save WALL-E station, participants learn what counts as e-waste and where it should be collected safely.

"The campaign itself is really useful. A lot of people do not have a general awareness of the 3Rs. I enjoyed finding out more about worm composting, and learning that soiled tissue paper cannot be recycled was a good takeaway for me."
