Slip, Trip
and Fall Prevention Campaign
Slips, trips and falls remain one of the most common causes of workplace injury, and almost all of them are preventable. Run in two waves, Safety Steps Ahead in March 2024, then a wider return across Singapore and Taiwan in late 2025, this campaign works the problem from the ground up. Participants learnt to read the floor in front of them, had their own work shoes assessed against the demands of their role, sat with a podiatrist on foot posture, and saw how balance, fatigue and distraction quietly raise the risk.
Programme Overview
Spot and prevent everyday hazards: the most common causes of slips, trips and falls, from uneven floors and blocked walkways to wet surfaces, poor storage and trailing cables, onsite or while travelling
Choose footwear that matches the job: grip science, tread wear, terrain testing and insoles, with different soles tested against real workplace surfaces
Build balance and situational awareness: stability principles, reaction-time challenges and Kim’s Game show how fatigue, phone use and unnoticed changes increase risk
Receive personalised podiatry guidance: one-to-one Foot Posture Index assessments and reviews of each participant’s work footwear for support, grip and suitability
Respond safely to chemical spills: identify, contain and clean up a spill, and recognise when it must be escalated rather than handled onsite
Practise through immersive and remote learning: realistic VR data-centre scenarios plus online card games, quizzes and word searches extend the campaign beyond the roadshow
Campaign in Action
Real sessions from the campaign, showing what participants actually did on the day.
Our facilitator runs the hazard card activity, with participants sorting everyday scenes into the ones that will put someone on the floor.
A participant works through the virtual reality booth, spotting slip and trip hazards in a data centre rebuilt from real site conditions.
Participants test work shoes against wet, dry and textured floor panels, feeling for themselves how much tread design changes grip.
One-to-one at the footwear station: tread depth, groove spacing and pattern explained on the shoes people actually wear to work.
Outsole features under the microscope, with real work boots handled side by side against the tread patterns that hold on a wet floor.
A podiatrist runs a Foot Posture Index assessment, reading alignment and stability from the way someone actually stands.

"It’s a super engaging and fun way to learn about the safety hazards we face onsite. The staff were very attentive and caring, and clearly knowledgeable, they had all done their homework."
